Lamborghini unveils the hybrid plug-in Temerario

Lamborghini has officially unveiled its latest addition to the storied lineup, the hybrid plug-in Temerario. This new model, heralding from the renowned Sant’Agata Bolognese factory, is set to replace the iconic Huracán and its celebrated V10 engine. The transformation is significant, marking a new era with a 4.0-litre, V8 biturbo hybrid engine capable of delivering a formidable 920 horsepower.

The V8 engine, sharing lineage with the SC63 prototype that competes in the World Endurance Championship, independently produces 800 horsepower at a range of 9,000 to 9,750 rpm, and can reach a maximum rotation speed of 10,000 rpm. Complementing the petrol engine’s output, are three electric motors. One of these is positioned between the V8, which features titanium connecting rods and a flat crankshaft, and the 8-speed dual-clutch transmission, while the remaining two power the front axle. Powering these motors is a 3.8 kWh battery, which can be recharged via an external source (taking 30 minutes at 7 kW), through regenerative braking, or by the internal combustion engine.

For those craving performance, the Temerario does not disappoint. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.7 seconds and boasts a top speed in excess of 340 km/h. The vehicle’s aerodynamics and frame are equally outstanding, utilising a sophisticated aluminium spaceframe design to ensure extremely high torsional rigidity while maintaining adequate passenger cell spaciousness.

Inside, the Temerario is packed with cutting-edge technology, featuring three displays. The centre console is fitted with an 8.4-inch screen dedicated to infotainment, while the driver benefits from a 12.3-inch display providing driving information. For the passenger, a 9.1-inch multifunctional screen is also included.

For those seeking additional enhancements, optional carbon fibre wheels measuring 20 and 21 inches are available, along with the “Alleggerita” package. This package reduces the vehicle’s weight by 25 kg through extensive use of carbon fibre components and further augments the maximum aerodynamic load. As for the pricing, the Lamborghini Temerario is expected to be around €300,000 in local currencies.

The unveiling of the Lamborghini Temerario represents a significant milestone in the brand’s evolution, blending electrification with the high-performance engineering that has become synonymous with Lamborghini.
