Chery Group has revealed the iCAUR V25 SUV to the world. It’ll come in range-extended and fully electric versions, and it’s due in the UAE in the fourth quarter of 2026. However, a price hasn’t been announced yet.

What has iCAUR revealed?

iCAUR, a brand within China’s Chery Group, unveiled the V25 SUV at its International User Summit in Wuhu, China, on 19 October. The company has confirmed two powertrain options for the new model.

Buyers will be able to choose a range-extended version or a fully battery-electric one. In addition, iCAUR has confirmed that the SUV will launch in the UAE during the fourth quarter of 2026. That gives the model a clear first destination beyond its unveiling.

Even so, several key details are still missing. The brand hasn’t shared a price. It also hasn’t published range or charging figures.

How do the two versions differ?

A range-extended electric vehicle drives its wheels with electric motors at all times. However, it also carries a petrol engine that works as a generator. When the battery runs low, the engine starts and makes electricity. As a result, the car keeps going without a stop at a charger.

By contrast, a battery-electric vehicle relies on its battery alone. Drivers top it up at home, at work or at public chargers. Because there’s no engine, there’s no fuel tank and no exhaust. Running costs can also be lower, depending on local electricity prices.

Offering both versions gives buyers a real choice. For example, someone who regularly drives long distances between cities might prefer the range extender. Meanwhile, a commuter with a home charger could find the battery-electric model simpler to live with. Range extenders have also grown popular in China in recent years, so iCAUR’s move follows a wider trend.

What details are still missing?

For now, the list of unknowns is long. iCAUR hasn’t confirmed battery sizes for either version. Also, there’s no official range figure, whether electric-only or combined with the engine. Charging speeds haven’t been announced either.

iCAUR has shared one performance figure. Its all-wheel-drive version uses two motors with a combined output of 335 kW and 505 Nm. Like the range and charging numbers still to come, that’s a manufacturer figure. Therefore, readers should treat such claims as targets until independent tests confirm them. After all, real-world range often depends on speed, temperature and air-conditioning use.

Pricing is the other big gap. Without it, it’s hard to judge where the V25 will sit against rival SUVs. Likewise, buyers can’t yet compare the cost of the two powertrains. That comparison will be important, since range-extended and battery-electric versions often carry different price tags.

When will the V25 reach the UAE?

iCAUR has scheduled the UAE launch for the fourth quarter of 2026. That window runs from October to December, so the wait could be fairly short. However, the brand hasn’t named an exact date.

It also hasn’t said which trim levels or powertrains will arrive first. Consequently, UAE buyers don’t yet know whether both versions will be on sale from day one. That detail could shape early demand, because some drivers will want one option over the other.

Hot weather adds its own demands. For instance, batteries need effective cooling, and cabins need strong air-conditioning. So drivers in the UAE will want to see how the V25 copes with peak summer temperatures. Independent reviews should eventually answer that question.

Why is this launch important for Chery?

Chery Group runs several brands, and iCAUR gives it a label focused on electrified models. Launching the V25 with two powertrains lets the group reach more buyers with a single SUV. Moreover, a global debut signals that the model is intended for markets beyond China.

The UAE launch is the first confirmed step in that wider rollout. More markets will follow, and iCAUR has said the V25 should reach Brazil in the second half of 2027.

What should buyers look out for next?

First, watch for official specifications from iCAUR, including battery sizes and range estimates. Then, look for UAE pricing, which should appear closer to launch. After that, independent reviews will show whether the claims hold up in daily driving.

Until then, the V25 remains an outline with plenty still to fill in. Its two-powertrain approach is clear, and so is its launch window. Meanwhile, the numbers buyers care about most are still to come.
