Kia Middle East and Africa has secured a permanent exhibition space inside Dubai’s Museum of the Future, putting its next-generation vehicle concepts in front of a public audience as the UAE accelerates its shift to smarter transport.
What has Kia agreed to with the Museum of the Future?
Kia Middle East and Africa has formed a strategic partnership with Dubai’s Museum of the Future. The agreement gives Kia a permanent presence inside one of Dubai’s most visited cultural landmarks.
The partnership includes a dedicated exhibition area and a vehicle display on the museum’s second floor. In addition, the venue will host workshops and public discussions covering electric vehicles, autonomous driving, connected mobility, smart infrastructure, and cleaner transport systems.
Which vehicles will appear in the exhibition?
The display is expected to include concept models such as the PV5 WKNDR. Kia has also indicated the MT concept could appear at the venue next year.
These models come from Kia’s Platform Beyond Vehicle programme, known as PBV. Kia introduced that programme at CES in Las Vegas in January 2024, with the Concept PV5 at its centre. The programme extends across robotics, advanced air mobility, and autonomous driving. Consequently, the museum exhibition gives visitors a direct view of where Kia is directing its product development.
What is the Platform Beyond Vehicle strategy?
The PBV strategy centres on modular vehicles that can adapt to changing urban needs. Kia presented the concept as a way to address both private and commercial transport demands with a single flexible platform.
At Kia’s 2026 CEO Investor Day, the company expanded the PBV business further. It confirmed the PV5 as a production-bound model and announced plans for additional models including the PV7 and PV9. As a result, the museum partnership gives the PBV line-up a high-profile public setting well before those vehicles reach showrooms.
How does this connect to the UAE’s sustainability goals?
The UAE has two major policy targets that shape transport planning. These are the Dubai Self-Driving Transport Strategy and the UAE Net Zero 2050 goal. Both push city planners and vehicle manufacturers toward cleaner, more connected systems.
Kia’s battery-electric line-up already includes the EV9, EV6, and EV5. However, the PBV programme goes further by addressing how vehicles integrate with urban infrastructure over time. The museum partnership therefore places Kia’s products within a policy context that the UAE government has already committed to publicly.
Why does this matter for EV buyers in the region?
For consumers in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, the museum exhibition puts future Kia products into a tangible setting. Visitors can engage with the concepts directly, rather than reading about them in product announcements.
Meanwhile, the workshops planned for the venue will cover topics including autonomous driving and smart infrastructure. These sessions give the public access to technical discussions that are usually held at industry events. For EV buyers considering where the market is heading, that kind of direct engagement has practical value. In addition, Kia’s existing battery-electric vehicles remain available through its regional dealer network, so the museum presence sits alongside a live product offering rather than replacing it.
