Tin snail, meet battery: Citroën has brought its most famous car back from retirement.
The Citroën 2 CV is back as an electric concept, unveiled at the 2026 Paris Motor Show. The small car revives a model built from 1948 to 1990. It measures 3,760 mm long and targets a weight of about one tonne. Citroën aims for a starting price of around €15,000, with production possible by 2028. A fabric sunroof, round headlamps and 18-inch steel wheels nod to the original. Inside, a removable basket replaces the centre console and door bins are sized for eggs. A detachable Radioën speaker doubles as the cabin’s sound system. Numbers on the windscreen mark 1948, 1990 and 2026. Citroën has not yet revealed battery size, power or range.
