XPeng has put its seven-seat X9 electric MPV on sale in the UAE from AED 297,000, adding a battery-powered family people-mover to its growing Gulf range. The launch extends a local line-up that already runs to the G6 and G9 SUVs and the P7+ fastback, taking the Chinese brand into the premium electric MPV class.
Who is selling the X9 and where can you buy it?
Gulf Star Motors, a subsidiary of Ali & Sons, handles distribution exclusively. Showrooms in Dubai and Abu Dhabi now stock the X9. The entry price is AED 297,000, so the model sits just below the AED 300,000 mark.
The X9 is XPeng’s fourth model in the UAE, joining the G6 and G9 SUVs and the P7+ fastback. The P7+ starts from AED 164,000, so the local range now spans several segments.
How far can the X9 travel and how quickly does it charge?
XPeng estimates up to 615km of WLTP range on a full charge. That figure is a manufacturer claim rather than an independent test result. The X9 runs on a dedicated electric-battery platform built around a large cabin.
Charging is quick. XPeng says the battery moves from 10 to 80 per cent in about twelve minutes through ultra-fast charging. For daily use, that means short stops rather than long waits.
Performance is brisk for a vehicle of this size. The dual-motor AWD Performance version reaches 100km/h from rest in 5.9 seconds, according to XPeng. The single-motor Standard Range model is slower.
What makes a 5.3-metre MPV easier to park?
Active Rear-Wheel Steering comes standard across the range. On a vehicle 5.3 metres long, it cuts the turning radius to 5.4 metres. That makes a difference in shopping mall car parks, marina access roads and other tight spaces.
So the standard fitment addresses one of the main drawbacks of a large MPV, which is manoeuvring in city traffic. Drivers used to wrestling big people-movers into narrow bays should notice the difference straight away.
What do passengers get in the cabin?
XPeng fits a 7.7 square-metre cabin on a flat floor across three rows and seven seats. The second row has two individual Zero-Gravity captain seats, which XPeng calls Cloud-sense Seat 3.0. Each offers 14-way power adjustment.
Rear passengers also get a 21.4-inch entertainment screen and a built-in refrigerator. Audio runs through 27 custom HiFi speakers. Up front, a 17.3-inch central control screen uses a Snapdragon 8295 chip and runs XPeng’s Tianji XOS operating system.
Because the same technology reaches the back seats, rear passengers share much of the driver’s kit. That gives the X9 a distinct position in the premium end of the market.
How safe is the X9?
The body uses a 2000MPa high-strength steel cage. Nine airbags come as standard. XPeng targets a five-star E-NCAP rating, though the car will need independent testing to confirm that aim.
Nine standard airbags stand out in a family vehicle, and the reinforced structure supports the safety pitch. Buyers weighing an electric switch will want that reassurance for a car carrying up to seven people.
Who is the X9 aimed at, and what does it rival?
XPeng targets affluent families who want space and premium features without leaving the electric segment. Seven seats, advanced comfort technology and a sub-AED 300,000 entry point form the core pitch.
The X9 competes in a broad segment alongside cars such as the Kia Carnival, though its individual rear-seat treatment goes further than most rivals. Zigwheels also lists the plug-in hybrid Denza B8 from AED 243,900 and the Voyah Dream from AED 275,000 as close comparisons.
For now, the X9 gives UAE families a fully electric option in a class long dominated by petrol and hybrid people-movers. With its range claim, quick charging and standard rear-wheel steering, XPeng has aimed the model squarely at buyers who value both practicality and technology.
