Great Wall Motor has launched a flagship Dubai showroom on Sheikh Zayed Road, signalling the Chinese automaker’s growing commitment to the Gulf market and its shift toward premium and new-energy vehicles.
What Does the New Dubai Showroom Actually Contain?
The new site brings together the HAVAL, TANK, and POER ranges under one roof. Customers can browse more than ten models in a single visit.
The showroom opened through GWM’s UAE distributor, Saeed Juma Al Naboodah Group. The launch event drew members of the Al Naboodah family, senior GWM executives, and UAE foreign trade minister Dr Thani Al Zeyoudi. That level of attendance reflects how seriously Chinese automakers treat Gulf market visibility.
Why Is Sheikh Zayed Road a Significant Location?
Sheikh Zayed Road is one of Dubai’s most prominent automotive corridors. A site there places GWM at the heart of the UAE’s competitive car retail environment.
For GWM, visibility in that location carries weight beyond the showroom itself. In a market where trust and aftersales support matter considerably, a high-profile address helps build brand recognition among buyers who may be unfamiliar with the range.
How Fast Is GWM Growing across the Middle East?
GWM reports that its Middle East business grew by 42 per cent year on year. Demand for SUVs, pickups, and new-energy vehicles drove that growth.
The company has consequently built a regional network of 95 showrooms and 93 service workshops across the GCC. That infrastructure matters to electric and hybrid buyers. In the UAE and Saudi Arabia, the decision to buy a new-energy vehicle is closely tied to whether local servicing and parts are readily available. Therefore, expanding the workshop network is as important as expanding the showroom count.
What Role Does Sponsorship Play in GWM’s Regional Strategy?
GWM returned to the Liwa International Festival in 2026 as a Gold Sponsor. The company brought a larger and more interactive brand presence than in previous years.
Events like Liwa allow GWM to connect its vehicles with off-road culture and desert driving. That association supports a broader brand image built around capability, smart technology, and premium design. In the Gulf, where outdoor and adventure driving has a strong following, that positioning gives GWM a relevant lifestyle angle alongside its new-energy push. As a result, sponsorships function as a direct extension of the company’s product message.
What Does This Mean for GWM’s Global Plans?
GWM has described the Dubai flagship as central to its international ambitions. The company has promised further investment across the GCC and continued emphasis on new-energy technologies.
For context, the Middle East is one of the few regions where Chinese automakers have made consistent, structured progress in recent years. However, sustained success still depends on aftersales reliability and consumer confidence in the brand’s long-term presence. GWM’s network expansion across the GCC suggests the company is approaching the market with a long-term view. The Dubai showroom, in that sense, is one part of a wider and ongoing regional commitment.
