REGENT’s electric seaglider flies in public

Part boat, part plane, REGENT’s Viceroy floats, foils and flies just above the water.

REGENT showed its 12-passenger electric seaglider in public flight for the first time on 30 September. More than 600 guests watched off Quonset Point, Rhode Island, where the company opened its new factory. The first attempt was called off after a 2 to 4 knot tailwind made the craft unstable. On the second try, the Viceroy rose onto its hydrofoils, then flew 10 to 12 feet above the water. The 255,000 sq ft factory plans to build 75 Viceroys a year. First customer deliveries are due in late 2027.
