AMG’s electric CLA rewrites the Ring

Mercedes-AMG’s electric CLA 45 now holds a Nürburgring record in its class.

Kevin Berger lapped the Nordschleife in 7:32.070 on 28 July in the electric Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 4MATIC+. That makes it the fastest car in its segment around the circuit. The electric CLA has three motors, including an axial flux motor at the front. Together they make 500 kW (671 hp). It has a 94 kWh battery and reaches 62 mph in three seconds. Berger drove in Race mode on Pirelli P Zero Trofeo RS tyres. AMG’s onboard video shows the full lap.
