Saudi Arabia’s Ceer plans seven models in five years

Two EVs are only the start of Saudi Arabia’s plan to build its own car industry.

Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman launched the first cars from Saudi Arabia’s Ceer on 21 September. The Public Investment Fund set up Ceer in 2022 as the kingdom’s first car brand. It plans seven models over the next five years, including mid-size and compact cars. All will be built at its complex in the King Salman Automotive Cluster, in King Abdullah Economic City. Ceer expects to add SR30 billion ($8 billion) to Saudi GDP by 2034. Reuters reports on the launch and the plans behind it.
