DS N°8 electric SUV coupé targets Gulf buyers

The DS N°8 is a fully electric SUV coupé with a 750km WLTP range, now available in Saudi Arabia at around 280,000 riyals.

What Is the DS N°8?

DS Automobiles has introduced the N°8, a fully electric SUV coupé positioned in the premium EV segment. The car competes directly with models such as the BMW i5 and Audi A6 e-tron.

DS drew on its AERO SPORT LOUNGE concept when developing the N°8. The result is a long-range electric vehicle with strong visual identity and a focus on interior comfort.

How Does the Design and Interior Stand Out?

The exterior gives the N°8 a clean, flowing appearance. It has a slim LED lighting signature, smooth side surfaces, and 20-inch alloy wheels. A panoramic roof adds to the premium character of the car.

Inside, DS has taken a theatrical approach to the cabin. Blue Alcantara upholstery covers the seats. A distinctive X-shaped steering wheel draws the eye immediately. The centre display handles navigation, and acoustic glazing reduces road noise considerably. The overall interior direction moves away from the typical German premium template.

What Are the Range and Performance Figures?

The N°8 has a combined WLTP range of up to 750km. Power output rises to 350hp depending on the version chosen. Those figures place it firmly in the long-range bracket.

For buyers in Saudi Arabia and the UAE, charging confidence matters greatly. A longer range reduces anxiety on longer journeys between cities. DS has also made the car available in two-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive layouts. As a result, the N°8 works as a premium long-distance cruiser rather than a dedicated performance machine.

Where Does DS Come From and Why Does It Matter?

DS traces its modern identity to 2009. That year, it launched as a premium line within Citroën. The brand became fully independent in 2014.

The name itself carries history. It references the original Citroën DS of 1955, a car long celebrated for its design and engineering vision. That heritage still shapes the brand’s identity today. DS positions itself around French luxury, distinctive style, and a degree of avant-garde confidence. For the N°8, that positioning is central to how the car presents itself in the showroom.

What Does the N°8 Cost in the Gulf and Who Is It For?

In Saudi Arabia, DS has priced the N°8 at approximately 280,000 riyals. That places it squarely in the segment occupied by established German electric saloons and coupés.

The N°8 targets buyers who want a premium EV with a strong visual identity and genuine long-range capability. Consequently, it appeals to drivers for whom range, comfort, and brand presence carry weight in the purchase decision. DS is a smaller player in the Gulf market. However, the combination of a 750km range, a well-appointed interior, and a competitive price gives the N°8 a credible case against its rivals.
