Cadillac Escalade IQ and IQL for Middle East

Cadillac has launched two electric versions of its Escalade SUV across the Middle East. The Escalade IQ and the extended Escalade IQL mark the model’s entry into the battery-powered era for the Gulf region. Both vehicles aim to carry forward the nameplate’s reputation for size and luxury while meeting the range expectations of buyers considering a switch to electric.

Why is Cadillac launching these models in the Middle East now?

The Middle East has consistently ranked among the Escalade’s strongest global markets. Omar Elkhishin, managing director of Cadillac Middle East and Cadillac International, said the new models honour the nameplate’s heritage while bringing electrification, refinement and technology to the next generation. The timing reflects growing interest in electric vehicles across the Gulf, particularly among buyers who prioritise long-distance capability and premium appointments.

Both the Escalade IQ and Escalade IQL are built on General Motors’ dedicated EV architecture. This platform underpins the performance and range figures Cadillac is quoting for the Middle Eastern market.

What range do the Escalade IQ and IQL offer?

Range is a central part of the case Cadillac is making for these vehicles. The Escalade IQ is claimed to deliver up to 724 kilometres in Middle Eastern specification, placing it among the longest-range electric SUVs currently available in the region. The larger Escalade IQL, designed for buyers who need greater interior space, is claimed to offer up to 708 kilometres. Both numbers make the vehicles a credible option for long-distance travel between cities such as Dubai and Riyadh.

The IQL carries Cadillac’s description of best-in-class second-row space and cargo capacity. Its proportions are larger than the standard IQ, though both share the same upright, bold styling the Escalade has carried across decades.

How do they perform?

Performance credentials are strong across both variants. Cadillac states that each model produces up to 750 horsepower and 1,064 Nm of torque when Velocity Max mode is engaged. The sprint from zero to 96 kilometres per hour takes 4.7 seconds. For an electric vehicle of this size, those figures are notable.

Charging capability is equally significant. Both models support fast charging at up to 350 kW, which Cadillac says can add approximately 150 kilometres of range in around ten minutes under ideal conditions. For home use, a 22 kW wall-box charger and a portable cable are included as standard.

What does the interior offer?

Inside, Cadillac has prioritised technology and comfort in equal measure. A curved display spanning 55 inches runs across the dashboard, alongside a panoramic glass roof and a 38-speaker AKG audio system. Buyers can also specify executive-style rear seating, making the IQL in particular well suited to chauffeur-driven use.

On the technology side, Cadillac lists Google Built-In integration, Night Vision, HD Surround Vision and a full OnStar connectivity package among the headline features. These additions reflect the expectations of buyers in a market where in-car technology is increasingly a deciding factor.

How does this fit into Cadillac’s broader electric strategy?

The Escalade has long functioned as the centrepiece of Cadillac’s model range. Introducing electric versions of the vehicle in one of its most important international markets signals a genuine commitment to the platform’s longevity. The IQ and IQL carry the qualities that made the original Escalade a status symbol into a different kind of powertrain.

For Cadillac, the challenge in the Middle East is straightforward. Buyers in the region expect large, powerful, well-equipped SUVs. The Escalade IQ and IQL answer those expectations with an electric drivetrain, long claimed range, and the kind of interior specification that the market demands. Whether buyers accustomed to the combustion-engined Escalade make the switch will depend on real-world performance matching the numbers on paper.

Both models are now available in Cadillac showrooms across the Middle East.
