Tesla has opened orders in the UAE for the Model Y L Premium, a six-seat, three-row version of the Model Y. It starts from AED 224,990, and deliveries are due to begin in November 2026, giving electric-minded families a new large-cabin option that Chinese rivals will move to contest.
How much bigger is the Model Y L?
The Model Y L Premium sits on a stretched version of the Model Y platform. According to Tesla, the wheelbase grows by 150mm, while overall length rises by 179mm. As a result, the company says the car gains room for a three-row layout while keeping the familiar Model Y width.
The roof has also been reshaped. Consequently, Tesla lists an extra 70mm of second-row headroom and 20mm more rear shoulder room. Furthermore, larger rear doors and bigger rear quarter windows are meant to ease access for third-row passengers.
What does the six-seat cabin offer?
Inside, the Model Y L Premium uses a six-seat layout with second-row captain’s chairs. Moreover, those seats add heating, ventilation, eight-way power adjustment, powered armrests and one-touch folding. They also recline up to 125 degrees, according to Tesla.
The third row gains power recline, one-touch folding and dedicated climate control too. In addition, Tesla lists a maximum cargo capacity of 2,539 litres. With all six seats in use, the boot still holds two large suitcases and a cabin-size trolley bag, while the front trunk takes another cabin bag. Folding the third row flat frees room for up to six large suitcases.

What equipment comes as standard?
The front seats are heated and ventilated, and they come with adjustable headrests and thigh-cushion extenders. Meanwhile, the dashboard carries a 16-inch central touchscreen with 2560 x 1600 resolution. The second row adds an eight-inch touchscreen for climate, gaming and entertainment.
Other standard kit includes acoustic glass and 19-inch Machina 2.0 wheels. Additionally, buyers get a 50W wireless fast charger with active cooling, charging ports for the rear rows and a 19-speaker audio system.
How safe is it meant to be?
Tesla fits side curtain airbags for the first and second rows, plus dedicated third-row airbags. Furthermore, the company says reinforced floor beams and a new integrated die-cast rear underbody improve rigidity and cut side-impact intrusion.
Driver-assistance features include Autosteer, Traffic-Aware Cruise Control and automatic emergency braking. The car is also hardware-ready for Full Self-Driving (Supervised), though that remains subject to availability and regional approval.
What are the range and performance figures?
Tesla gives the Model Y L Premium an estimated WLTP range of 681km. As for pace, the manufacturer estimates a 0 to 100kph time of 5.0 seconds and a top speed of 201kph.
Tesla also says the model gets electronic damping and adaptive suspension. Consequently, the aim is better ride comfort while keeping the driving character expected of a Model Y. Owners will additionally have access to the company’s Supercharger network, which Tesla says includes more than 220 Superchargers across the UAE.
Why does this launch matter?
A six-seat Model Y opens a new three-row electric family segment in the UAE. Until now, buyers wanting a spacious electric people-carrier had fewer mainstream choices near this price. Therefore, the Model Y L Premium gives Tesla a fresh entry in a fast-growing part of the market.
The price is central to that appeal. At AED 224,990, the Model Y L sits within reach of families cross-shopping large petrol and hybrid SUVs. Moreover, the three-row cabin and long claimed range address two common worries for electric buyers, namely space and distance between charges.
Chinese brands, however, are likely to respond quickly. Several already sell three-row electric and plug-in models in the region, often at keen prices. As a result, the six-seat Model Y could sharpen competition across the affordable end of the large-EV class.
For now, the Model Y L Premium is available to order in the UAE from AED 224,990, with first deliveries planned for November 2026. Buyers therefore have several months to weigh it against rivals before cars reach customers.
