BMW Group Middle East has unveiled the updated 7 Series in Dubai, the first luxury sedan to carry Neue Klasse technology. No UAE price has been announced yet.
What has BMW shown in Dubai?
BMW Group Middle East gave the new 7 Series its regional debut in Dubai on 8 September 2026. The company’s regional press release presents the flagship as the first luxury sedan with technologies from the Neue Klasse.
The Dubai showing follows the model’s world premiere on 22 April 2026 at Auto China in Beijing. Series production then began at BMW Group Plant Dingolfing on 1 July 2026. As a result, the car reached the Gulf after it had already entered manufacturing.
However, BMW Group Middle East hasn’t published a UAE price list or an on-sale date. For now, Dubai serves as the showcase for hardware already confirmed in BMW’s global 7 Series press kit.
What is Neue Klasse technology?
BMW Group describes the new 7 Series as “the most extensive model update ever carried out by the BMW Group”. Moreover, it brings Neue Klasse systems to an existing luxury sedan for the first time.
The cabin centres on BMW Panoramic iDrive running BMW Operating System X. In addition, a BMW Passenger Screen comes as standard for the first time. Together these form a new centralised software and electronics architecture.
Buyers can also add an optional BMW Theatre Screen for rear passengers. This 31.3-inch 8K panel handles streaming, gaming and video calls. Furthermore, 22-inch wheels are available from the factory for the first time, alongside the standard 20-inch set. The regional release also lists 130 paint colours and a two-tone BMW Individual Dual-Finish option.
How far can the electric i7 travel?
The 7 Series keeps its powertrain choice open. Consequently, the line-up spans petrol and diesel engines with 48V mild-hybrid technology, plug-in hybrids and fully electric i7 variants. BMW builds every version at Plant Dingolfing.
According to BMW Group Middle East, the electric i7 now covers more than 720 kilometres on the WLTP cycle. Sixth-generation BMW eDrive technology with cylindrical cells makes that gain possible. These are manufacturer figures, so real-world range will vary with speed, temperature and load.
Additionally, BMW says Neue Klasse technologies will reach 40 BMW Group models by the end of 2027.
Is this a next-generation car?
The new 7 Series is a life-cycle update of the current generation. Therefore, it keeps the existing body structure. BMW is using the flagship to prove Neue Klasse software, displays and electronics on a luxury platform already familiar in the Gulf.
That approach suits buyers who want the new interface and longer range now. Instead of waiting for a clean-sheet Neue Klasse sedan, they get the technology in a familiar silhouette. It also explains the mixed powertrain line-up, which covers mild-hybrid petrol and diesel, plug-in hybrids and a longer-range i7.
When will UAE pricing appear?
BMW’s UAE importers are AGMC, covering Dubai, Sharjah and the Northern Emirates, and Abu Dhabi Motors, covering Abu Dhabi and Al Ain. Neither has yet published AED pricing for the new model on its website.
Watch, then, for a statement from BMW Group Middle East or either importer carrying AED prices and a delivery window. Until then, treat Dubai as the regional showcase for Neue Klasse hardware.
Buyers shouldn’t read across from US or German list prices either. Those figures don’t convert directly into AED, because local specifications and equipment differ.
Why is this launch important?
The 7 Series has long served as BMW’s technology flagship. Consequently, putting Neue Klasse systems into it signals how the wider range will feel over the coming years. The centralised architecture and Operating System X will spread across dozens of models.
For Gulf buyers, the electric i7 offers the headline number. More than 720 kilometres of WLTP range, alongside combustion and plug-in hybrid options, gives the flagship broad appeal. Finally, the standard Passenger Screen and optional 8K Theatre Screen mark a clear step in cabin display technology.
