El Nasr Automotive’s Helwan plant has gone electric, and this video gives a look at the SUV that made it happen.
El Nasr Automotive has launched the Dongfeng MAGE EV, billed as Egypt’s first locally assembled fully electric passenger car. Industry Minister Khaled Hashem and Electricity Minister Mahmoud Esmat attended the launch at the company’s plant in Helwan on 31 October. The electric car is built with SN Automotive, a joint venture of Al Safy Group and El Nasr. Officials put local content at up to 45 per cent. The SUV makes about 160 hp and has an advertised range of 445 km on China’s CLTC cycle. This Arabic-language video, posted the same day, lists a 30 to 80 per cent charge in about 28 minutes. Commercial sales are due in the first quarter of 2027. Prices haven’t been announced.
