How is the VinFast VF 8 suited to Gulf heat?

UAE summers push past 45°C, with dust storms and hours of air-conditioning. Here’s how VinFast designed the VF 8 for the region.

A Gulf summer tests any car. Temperatures climb beyond 45°C, dust storms roll in, and the air-conditioning runs for hours at a stretch. That creates demanding performance requirements. VinFast designed the VF 8 with these conditions in mind, engineering the air-conditioning, cabin materials, and drivetrain for the region. Here’s what that means in practice.

How does the VF 8 keep its cabin cool?

VinFast fits the VF 8 with dual-zone climate control and air ionisation. Together, they hold a steady cabin temperature even in fierce heat. A UV-protected windshield reduces heat building up through the glass.

On the Plus trim, ventilated (and heated) seats cover both rows, which is rare at this price. This can provide very welcome, quick cooling for the driver and passengers alike when getting into the car or on long journeys.

In addition, a double-layer acoustic windshield trims road and wind noise on long motorway runs.

The result is a cabin built to stay comfortable when the mercury climbs.

The Plus trim of the VinFast VF 8 has ventilated seats.

What about dust and air quality?

Fine desert sand clogs filters and dirties cabin air. The VF 8’s filtration targets exactly this problem, keeping dust out and the air inside cleaner. The air ionisation system supports that in urban and desert settings, which matters in cities where dust storms arrive with little warning. For families doing the school run or long weekend drives, cleaner cabin air is a real benefit.

The controls are simple.

Does the heat affect the battery?

Heat is the genuine challenge for any EV. High temperatures speed up the chemical reactions inside a lithium-ion pack, which can shorten its life over time. VinFast’s answer is its warranty. The VF 8 carries a 10-year or 200,000-kilometre vehicle warranty, plus a 10-year unlimited-kilometre battery warranty. In a region where heat accelerates battery wear, that cover counts for a lot.

The car also offers preconditioning through the VinFast app. Because of it, you can pre-cool the cabin and bring the battery closer to its ideal temperature before setting off. As a result, the pack starts the drive under less strain.

Anyone living in the UAE knows that extreme heat can slow battery charging. Charging overnight, parking in shade, and using preconditioning all help keep speeds up.

How has the VF 8 been tested for the heat?

VinFast put the VF 8 through three years of real-world driving before it reached showrooms. That programme covered demanding markets, including the Middle East, alongside Vietnam and Tibet. Those routes span extreme heat, high altitude, and long distances. For buyers, that history is proof of durability in exactly the conditions Gulf driving demands.

What does it cost, and is it worth it?

Al Tayer Motors sells the VF 8 in two trims. The Eco starts from AED 115,900 and the Plus from AED 125,900, both including VAT. Both use an 87.7 kWh battery and all-wheel drive. The Eco produces 349 horsepower, while the Plus lifts that to 402 horsepower and 620 Nm of torque, reaching 100 km/h in 5.5 seconds. VinFast quotes up to 493 kilometres of range for the Eco on the NEDC cycle.

For the money, the VF 8 offers strong equipment, real Gulf-focused design, and warranty cover few rivals match. The comfort features answer the heat directly, and the battery warranty softens the biggest worry about EV ownership in a hot climate. For buyers who value comfort, kit, and peace of mind, the VF 8 makes a convincing case for Gulf driving.
