The UAE is accelerating its shift towards high-tech, sustainable policing, with new electric and hybrid patrol vehicles set to reshape law enforcement in both Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Two standout additions to the nation’s law enforcement fleets – Dubai Police’s all-electric Lotus Emeya-S and Abu Dhabi’s upcoming hybrid Magnus vehicle by Eneron – underscore a broader shift towards sustainable, technologically advanced policing.
Dubai Police Expand Electric Superfleet with Lotus Emeya-S
Unveiled during the World Police Summit at the Dubai World Trade Centre, the Lotus Emeya-S represents the latest addition to Dubai Police’s electric patrol lineup. With 603 horsepower, a top speed of 155 mph, and a range of up to 372 miles per charge, the Emeya-S blends sustainability with supercar performance. Autonomous driving capabilities and a futuristic digital cockpit signal a strong commitment to next-generation mobility.
Major General Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansouri, along with Lotus’s Ramzi Al Atat, highlighted the vehicle’s role in engaging tourists and residents while strengthening patrol capacity. The Emeya-S joins a high-profile fleet that already includes the Lotus Eletre R, Lamborghini Urus Performante, and MANSORY Rolls-Royce Cullinan – luxury EVs strategically deployed across Dubai’s iconic locations such as Burj Khalifa and Jumeirah Beach Residence.
Dubai Police’s integration of the XPENG EV for traffic enforcement further reflects the force’s efforts to modernise operations with efficient, sustainable transport. These initiatives align with Dubai’s broader smart city vision and reinforce its leadership in urban mobility innovation.
Abu Dhabi Bets on Eneron’s Magnus for Tactical Hybrid Support
Meanwhile, Abu Dhabi’s answer to future policing comes in the form of the Eneron Magnus – a multi-functional hybrid patrol vehicle set to launch by 2027–28. Introduced at the ‘Make it in the Emirates’ exhibition, the Magnus serves as a mobile command centre, drone deployment platform, and EV charging hub, tailored to meet the evolving needs of urban security.

Engineered by Kintsugi Holding’s Eneron division, the Magnus boasts a 900 km hybrid range and supports off-road autonomous navigation. Its four-wheel electric drive with torque vectoring ensures performance across varied terrain, while ballistic protection and real-time 360-degree surveillance provide operational resilience.
Waleed Alblooshi, Senior Manager at Eneron, noted the vehicle’s role in supporting EV users across the emirate by offering mobile charging – a nod to both utility and sustainability. The Magnus was developed in under three months, a testament to Emirati engineering and the agility of UAE’s industrial innovation sector.
Smart Cities, Smarter Security
Together, the Emeya-S and Magnus represent a regional strategy where advanced vehicle platforms serve not only as enforcement tools but also as public technology demonstrators. With the UAE investing heavily in EV infrastructure and smart city solutions, these vehicles are more than just fleet upgrades – they are signals of a nation accelerating toward a more sustainable, secure future.
As these models hit the roads, they reflect a broader GCC ambition: to lead the global conversation on climate-forward public safety, one high-tech patrol vehicle at a time.
