This is a big year for Tata Motors. India’s largest automaker is launching new models across multiple segments, with a strong focus on electric vehicles, modern design, and safety-first technology. With the Harrier.ev now on sale and the Sierra EV next in line, the shift is clear: electric is becoming central to Tata’s strategy.
Which models have already launched?
The Harrier.ev arrived in June 2025, with deliveries beginning the following month. It is a full-size electric SUV designed for families, offering a mix of comfort and advanced technology. Customers can choose between two battery packs, 65 kWh and 75 kWh, with the larger version certified for up to 627 km of range on the Indian MIDC cycle. Charging speeds reach up to 120 kW DC, allowing drivers to add around 250 km of range in just 15 minutes. Tata has launched both rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive (QWD) versions. The SUV also carries a five-star Bharat NCAP rating, reinforcing its safety credentials.
Alongside the Harrier.ev, Tata’s Curvv remains a core mid-size option. Launched earlier, the Curvv.ev offers up to 585 km of range from a 55 kWh battery, and the ICE version continues in parallel.

What is next for 2025?
The Sierra makes a comeback during India’s festive season. Tata will first introduce the EV variant, with petrol and diesel versions expected later. The Sierra combines rugged proportions and modern LED styling with a strong heritage nameplate, aiming to appeal to buyers looking for versatility and familiarity.
The Punch is also due for a major refresh. Aimed at city drivers, the facelift brings a digital instrument cluster, larger touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and revised seat upholstery. Exterior changes include new bumpers and sharper lighting signatures. Safety features such as dual airbags and ABS are standard, while higher trims add stability control and a reverse camera. Compact, affordable, and well-equipped, it continues to target urban India.
What has been delayed?
The Safari EV, originally tipped for 2025, is now expected in 2026. It maintains the upright stance of the existing Safari but with EV-specific styling such as full-width LED lighting and flush door handles. Inside, Tata is developing space for seven passengers and a full suite of connected features.
Avinya has also been delayed. The brand’s futuristic concept was shown at Bharat Mobility 2025, but production timelines have shifted by at least a year. Avinya ditches traditional design for a lounge-like interior, sustainable materials, and a voice-first interface. Built on a lightweight, reinforced platform, it represents Tata’s premium EV ambitions.

How is Tata structuring its strategy?
Tata’s 2025 vision rests on affordability, new platforms, and aspirational design. The Harrier and Safari EVs cater to family demand. The Punch refresh addresses city drivers. The Sierra targets the mid-range sweet spot. And the Avinya signals where Tata sees the global EV market heading.
Whether petrol, diesel, or electric, Tata’s range sets out to cover all options.
