Xpeng sees huge demand for low-cost Mona M03

XPeng Motors, a Chinese EV maker, is experiencing an overwhelming surge in demand for its latest AI-centric MONA line, specifically the MONA M03, the line’s flagship model. Introduced in early July in China, the MONA M03 has captured the attention of consumers with its compelling combination of advanced features and highly competitive pricing.

The MONA M03 isn’t available in the MENA region yet, but the G6 SUV and G9 SUV models are slated to go on sale in the UAE through its strategic partnership with Ali&Sons.

On its official launch in late August in China, XPeng surprised the market once more by setting the pre-order price for the M03 at a very low RMB 119,800 ($16,815).

This attractive pricing strategy proved to be highly effective, with the model achieving over 10,000 orders within the first two minutes of availability. This number soared to over 30,000 pre-orders within the initial 48 hours.

XPeng’s founder, chairman, and CEO, He Xiaopeng, confirmed that mass production of the MONA M03 had begun in China. Due to the extraordinary demand, XPeng has also reached out to its component suppliers, urging them to increase their production capacity to keep pace with the growing number of orders.

Reports indicate that the MONA M03 has been averaging approximately 2,000 new orders per day, positioning XPeng’s order book between 54,000 and 60,000 in just two weeks.

XPeng’s strategy of integrating advanced artificial intelligence features with aggressive pricing appears to be paying off, capturing a sizeable segment of the market looking for affordable yet technologically advanced electric vehicles.

With the popularity of other Chinese EVs such as BYD in the UAE, the arrival of the M03 will be keenly awaited.
