Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer Xpeng has launched its G6 and G9 SUV models in the United Arab Emirates, marking its entry into the country and expanding its overall regional presence through a partnership with Ali & Sons Holding LLC.
Xpeng’s has also revealed plans to open a new showroom in the nation’s capital, Abu Dhabi, in the coming year, further augmenting its existing operations in the UAE.
The firm intends to draw upon Ali & Sons’ robust operational expertise and significant local influence to facilitate its integration into the UAE market, aiming to enhance its competitiveness through innovative smart product offerings.
Ali & Sons also represents automotive brands such as Volkswagen, Audi, and Porsche in the UAE. It will collaborate with Xpeng to develop an expansive distribution network. There are also plans to diversify the vehicle lineup in the future with the introduction of the X9 multi-purpose vehicle (MPV).
Mohammad Al Dhaheri, Managing Director of Ali & Sons Automotive, expressed optimism about the partnership, stating, “After the introduction of the G6 and G9, we will also introduce the X9 MPV to further enhance the product lineup.”
This UAE venture is part of Xpeng’s ambitious international expansion strategy. The company has been actively advancing into various Middle Eastern markets, having already launched in Israel, Egypt, Azerbaijan, Jordan, and Lebanon.
Looking beyond the Middle East, Xpeng has said it will extend its footprint into Europe, the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), Latin America, and Oceania.
