Polestar 3 launches in UAE

Porsche Cayenne beware, a rather impressive alternative is here! The Polestar 3, a very stylish electric SUV from the luxury Swedish EV-only brand Polestar, is now available to pre-order in the UAE.

The Polestar 3 is a fully electric 5-seat SUV with a power range of up to 380 kW and an impressive 910 Nm torque that will leave most gas powered cars standing.  It is available at launch with a dual-motor configuration, a power bias towards the rear, and an optional Performance Pack for even more power and torque. It boasts an 111kWh battery pack with a driving range of up to 610km on a single full charge, and is equipped for bidirectional charging.

The Polestar 3 is available through Al-Futtaim Electric Mobility Company, the official distributor of Polestar in the UAE.  The long range dual motor variant has a starting price of AED 360,000, slightly lower than the Cayenne.

The launch event organised by Al-Futtaim Electric Mobility Company for the Polestar 3 in Dubai on 8 February.

Commenting on the launch, Hasan Nergiz, Managing Director of Al-Futtaim Electric Mobility Company said: “Polestar 3 has been one of the most anticipated electric vehicles worldwide, and of course, we are thrilled to be the first to bring this car into the region. For us, this is the model that will unlock the UAE market, as it completely redefines what SUVs can do in terms of performance, while delivering zero carbon emissions. It is also a strong manifestation of our commitment to continue spearheading the sustainable mobility transition of the country, and delivering the best of performance, luxury and sustainability, all at the same time.

“The introduction of Polestar 3 is perfectly timed, as we continue to drive investments in shaping an end-to-end electric mobility ecosystem across the UAE, including our own charging stations and the region’s first IMI-certified e-mobility training center launched by us last year.

The interior is stylish and refined, reflecting Polestar’s design focus and Swedish provenance.

It’s not just the performance that sets the Polestar 3 apart, as the interior specification is top notch as befits its Scandi heritage.  The interior materials prioritise sustainability, featuring bio-attributed MicroTech, animal welfare-certified leather, and fully traceable wool upholsteries.

That word ‘sustainability’ comes up again and again with Polestar.  It is pursuing a ruthless timeline to achieve full carbon neutrality as a company by 2040 and to produce the world’s first zero carbon vehicle by 2030.

The Polestar 3 underwent extensive hot weather testing in the UAE last year to make sure it can cope with our summers.

The SUV segment is the most popular in the UAE – just take a drive along the Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road and count them up.   So this launch is important, not just commercially for Polestar, but also as a new, greener alternative that satisfies UAE drivers’ preference for luxury, full-sized motors.

What’s it like to drive the Polestar 3? Take a tour with Andreas Andreen, the Polestar product manager responsible for the car.
