Genesis Electrified G80 gets major upgrades

The Genesis Electrified G80 has undergone significant upgrades for its 2025 model year. These changes include extended dimensions and technology enhancements, positioning the vehicle as a more luxurious and advanced electric sedan.

The 2025 Electrified G80, controlled by Hyundai’s luxury marque Genesis, now boasts a longer wheelbase, expanded to 3,140mm, up from the previous 3,010mm. This modification provides additional rear legroom for passengers, significantly enhancing comfort for those seated in the back.

In addition to the increased dimensions, the vehicle features a new, more powerful battery pack. The updated model houses a fourth-generation lithium-ion battery from SK On, expanding from 87.2 kilowatt-hours in the 2023 and 2024 models to an impressive 94.5 kilowatt-hours.

This upgrade gives the sedan a maximum driving range of 475 kilometres, which is quite impressive for a vehicle of its size and weight (2,355 kg).

Advanced Technology and Comfort

Genesis has introduced several advanced features designed to enhance the driving and passenger experience. The 2025 model comes with a refined interior that includes a state-of-the-art 17-speaker premium audio system from Bang & Olufsen, equipped with Dolby Atmos technology. A 27-inch OLED panel integrates the digital instrument cluster with the touchscreen infotainment system, providing a sleek and modern user interface.

One of the standout features of the 2025 Electrified G80 is the introduction of Chauffeur Mode, a first for the Genesis electric vehicle lineup. This mode enhances rear passenger comfort by refining acceleration and braking patterns. Additionally, the vehicle’s front and rear suspension bushings have been upgraded to minimise vibrations and improve stability. The Road-Preview Electronic Control Suspension (R-PCS) gathers data from multiple sources, including the satellite navigation system, to preemptively adjust vehicle behaviour.

Furthermore, the inclusion of rear-wheel steering, Electrically Assisted Dynamic Torque Vectoring, and an Active Sound Design system with 20 volume levels underscores Genesis’s commitment to delivering a sophisticated driving experience.

Interior and Exterior Customisation

The 2025 Electrified G80 offers 10 paint colours and four bi-tone combinations for the interior, allowing for a personalised touch. The rear seats can recline up to 40 degrees with a simple screen tap, and the rear doors can be operated from the inside at the push of a button.

The extensive enhancements to the Genesis Electrified G80 for the 2025 model year reflect the brand’s ongoing commitment to innovation and luxury in the electric vehicle market. So these updates are expected to appeal to consumers seeking both advanced technology and superior comfort in an electric sedan.
