The latest iteration of the BMW iX features a sportier design, improved performance metrics, and an impressive range of up to 426 miles on a single charge.
The refreshed version of BMW’s pioneering all-electric Sports Activity Vehicle, the BMW iX, building on its original introduction in 2021. Recognised for its advanced design and dynamic electrified drive, this latest iteration comes with a sportier aesthetic, enhanced performance metrics, and an impressive range that now extends up to 426 miles on a single charge, according to the Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicles Test Procedure (WLTP).
The new model designations, which reflect heightened performance specifications, include the BMW iX xDrive45, the BMW iX xDrive60 M Sport, and the flagship BMW iX M70 xDrive. Each variant comes with competitive power consumption rates—20.9 kWh per 62 miles for the xDrive45, 21.0 kWh for the xDrive60 M Sport, and 23.6 kWh for the M70—each falling in CO2 class A, underscoring their efficiency.
Significant advancements in performance electronics and battery technology have contributed to improvements in power consumption exceeding eight percent, which varies based on the model’s equipment and specifications. For instance, the new BMW iX xDrive60, which replaces the previous xDrive50, now boasts an additional range of approximately 34 miles.

The design overhaul also extends to the vehicle’s visual appeal and interior ambience. The M Sport trim features a more striking exterior thanks to sculpted front and rear aprons and aerodynamically optimised 21- and 22-inch M light-alloy wheels. For the first time in this segment, customers can also opt for 23-inch M light-alloy wheels, augmenting the luxurious feel of the vehicle.
The iX remains particularly relevant in key markets, including the UK, USA, and Germany. All models are set to be produced at the BMW Group Plant Dingolfing, which is recognised as the largest production facility for the brand in Europe and a hub for developing electric drivetrains.
As BMW continues to adapt to the growing demand for electric vehicles, the new iX represents a significant step toward enhancing the driving experience for consumers while promoting sustainable mobility in the automotive landscape.
