BYD ATTO 3 acclaimed as Best Family Car 2023

BYD, one of the world’s leading electric vehicle (EV) manufacturers, has once again proven its excellence in automotive innovation with the BYD ATTO 3, which has been crowned the Electric Family Car of the Year 2023 by the influential Flemish Automobile Club VAR.

With its advanced technology, sleek design, and commitment to sustainability, the BYD ATTO 3 is an impressive addition to BYD’s fleet of electric vehicles, and a game-changer for environmentally conscious families worldwide.

The BYD ATTO 3 is a versatile electric vehicle that caters to the needs of modern families, with ample space for passengers and luggage, while remaining a compact and easy-to-manoeuvre car. At the heart of the BYD ATTO 3 lies BYD’s proprietary Blade Battery technology, which provides an impressive range of 400 kilometers on a single charge. This extended range allows families to enjoy the open road without the worry of constantly seeking charging stations, making it an ideal choice for those looking to switch to an electric vehicle.

In addition to its exceptional range, the BYD ATTO 3 boasts an impressive charging time, with the ability to recharge from 10% to 80% in just 30 minutes using a DC fast charger. This rapid charging capability ensures that families can spend more time enjoying the journey and less time waiting for their vehicle to recharge.

Safety is paramount when it comes to family vehicles, and the BYD ATTO 3 does not disappoint. It has been awarded a 5-star rating by the European New Car Assessment Programme (Euro NCAP), thanks to its comprehensive suite of advanced safety features. Among these features are the advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), which include lane-keeping assist, autonomous emergency braking, and adaptive cruise control, ensuring that families remain safe on the road.

BYD’s commitment to sustainable practices is evident in the BYD ATTO 3, with the vehicle’s interior designed using environmentally friendly materials. This includes the use of eco-friendly leatherette for the seats, door panels, and dashboard, as well as a unique, wood-like trim made from recycled materials. These sustainable choices not only contribute to the car’s overall appeal but also demonstrate BYD’s dedication to reducing its environmental impact.

The BYD ATTO 3’s infotainment system is another standout feature, offering a 25.6cm touchscreen display that seamlessly integrates with popular smartphone platforms such as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. This connectivity ensures that families can stay entertained, informed, and connected throughout their journey.

BYD’s pricing strategy is another factor that sets the BYD ATTO 3 apart from its competitors. The vehicle is not only affordable but also offers great value for money, considering its advanced technology and impressive performance capabilities. This competitive price point makes the BYD ATTO 3 an attractive option for families looking to invest in a reliable, eco-friendly vehicle.

VAB Editor in Chief Jan Creten explains how the car was selected for their award: “We test cars and judge each vehicle on comfort, infotainment, safety features, accessories, budget and off course practicality, technology and drivability. This year the cars were judged by the professional car media (30% of the total figure), customers and families (50%) and also costs per kilometer for each vehicle. This important last element contributes for 20% of the total figure.”

The jurors’ report concluded: “This car (BYD ATTO 3) outshines European competitors.”

The BYD ATTO 3’s accolade as the Electric Family Car of the Year 2023 is well-deserved, thanks to its innovative design, advanced technology, and commitment to sustainability. With its impressive range, rapid charging capabilities, and comprehensive safety features, the BYD ATTO 3 is a versatile and affordable option for environmentally conscious families, paving the way for a greener future on the road.
