Geely launched its new plug-in hybrid SUV in Egypt, then drove it into the desert.
Geely picked Cairo for the global launch of the Monjaro EM-i on 29 August. It is the brand’s first hybrid D-segment SUV, at 4.8 metres long with a 2,845 mm wheelbase. Its EM-i Super Hybrid system pairs electric drive with a 1.5-litre turbo engine. The all-wheel-drive Monjaro EM-i reaches 100 km/h in 5.83 seconds. Geely’s film takes the car from Cairo’s streets into the Sahara. It crosses soft sand, rocks and dunes in the Black and White Deserts.
