Omoda 4 brings AI cockpit to UAE drivers

The Omoda 4 SUV pairs a ByteDance-powered AI cockpit with autonomous parking, targeting connected drivers across the UAE.

What Is the Omoda 4 and Who Is It For?

Omoda & Jaecoo designed the Omoda 4 for digitally native drivers. The brand describes this group as buyers who expect their car to learn, adapt, and respond intelligently. The global debut took place at Super AI Night in Jakarta. A UAE launch is planned for later in 2025.

The brand positions the Omoda 4 as a software-led SUV. Its Cyber Mecha design language gives the exterior a sharp, tech-forward appearance. Omoda & Jaecoo calls the cabin a “third living space”, intended for commuting, music, social connectivity, and weekend driving alike.

How Does the AI Smart Cockpit Work?

The AI Smart Cockpit sits at the centre of the Omoda 4’s technology story. Omoda & Jaecoo built it on ByteDance’s Seed large language model. An agentic AI architecture underpins the system, allowing it to understand driver intent over time.

In practice, the cockpit picks up on individual habits. It responds more naturally than a conventional in-car assistant. Omoda & Jaecoo delivers updates over the air, so the system can develop after purchase. The brand says this forms part of a wider intelligent mobility strategy it plans to roll out across export markets, including the UAE.

What Driver Assistance Does the Omoda 4 Include?

The Omoda 4 carries up to 16 advanced driver-assistance systems. These cover a range of functions across everyday driving and parking scenarios. Omoda & Jaecoo says the suite gives Gulf buyers the level of technology they increasingly expect from a new vehicle.

One system draws particular attention. The Valet Parking Driver technology, known as VPD, parks the car autonomously and retrieves it on command. Omoda & Jaecoo previewed related parking technology in the UAE before the Omoda 4’s announcement. The brand says VPD is well suited to crowded car parks at shopping centres and busy city locations.

Why Is Omoda & Jaecoo Focusing on the UAE?

The UAE has a young, highly connected population. As a result, demand for smart in-car services is strong and growing. Omoda & Jaecoo sees this as a natural market for AI-led mobility products. The Omoda 4 is therefore being introduced to strengthen the brand’s existing local range.

The country’s appetite for technology also shapes how the brand communicates the product. For example, the autonomous parking function receives prominent attention in regional materials. Omoda & Jaecoo is clearly treating the UAE as a proving ground for its broader software strategy, rather than a secondary consideration.

What Comes Next for Omoda & Jaecoo’s Technology Roadmap?

The Omoda 4 is one part of a larger technology plan. Omoda & Jaecoo’s roadmap also includes Super Intelligent Valet Parking, referred to internally as SIVP. The company is additionally developing AiMOGA robotics as part of the same programme.

Consequently, the brand is building what it describes as an ecosystem around the car. The AI cockpit, over-the-air updates, autonomous parking, and robotics all connect within this plan. For UAE buyers, the Omoda 4 gives the clearest indication yet of where Omoda & Jaecoo intends to take its vehicles. The brand’s broader direction points toward cars that carry more software capability with each model generation.
