Zeekr has begun delivering its 7X electric family SUV in Europe, starting in Norway, with plans to expand across the continent. The 7X offers a 543 km WLTP range, competitive pricing, and strong performance, as the brand targets growth in the competitive European EV sector.
Zeekr, the electric vehicle brand under China’s Geely Group, has made a significant step into the European automotive landscape by commencing deliveries of its Zeekr 7X family SUV, with the first unit handed over in Bergen, Norway. This marks an essential moment for the brand as it seeks to expand its footprint beyond Asian markets into the competitive European EV sector.
The Zeekr 7X, initially launched in China in September 2024 and made available for European pre-orders at the end of the year, it is designed to appeal to a broader audience. It follows the introduction of the Zeekr 007 sedan. With a WLTP-certified range of 543 kilometres for the grey “Privilege” variant that was the first delivered, the vehicle showcases impressive specs. The dual-motor all-wheel-drive version accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds and supports fast charging of up to 360 kW, which aligns with European consumers’ rising demand for high-performance EVs.
Pricing strategies for the 7X reflect the diverse European market. Starting prices are listed at €52,990 in the Netherlands, SEK 529,000 in Sweden, and NOK 539,900 in Norway. These figures represent a strategic pricing approach aimed at positioning the Zeekr 7X competitively against other electric SUVs in a region where consumer preference is swiftly moving towards eco-friendly options.
Moreover, Zeekr’s delivery initiative in Europe comes at a time when competition in the EV sector is intensifying, with numerous companies vying for market share. Following its official introduction to the European markets in December 2024, pre-sales began in select countries, including Norway, Sweden, and the Netherlands. According to the company’s statement, Zeekr is enthusiastic about the rollout, aiming to expand rapidly into additional European nations in the near future.
In addition to the excitement surrounding the Zeekr 7X, the brand is also preparing to unveil a new mid-size hybrid SUV, the 8X, later this year. This further illustrates Zeekr’s commitment to diversifying its offerings to meet evolving consumer preferences and regulatory challenges in Europe, where emissions standards are becoming increasingly stringent.
The manufacturer’s entry into the European market not only highlights the growing importance of electric mobility across the continent but also underscores a shift in global automotive dynamics, with manufacturers from China increasingly making their mark in traditionally strong automotive regions. As Zeekr delivers its first vehicles in Europe and gears up for further expansions, it enters a pivotal chapter in its attempts to establish a prominent position within the global EV marketplace outside China.
