Nissan’s Magnite available in Saudi Arabia

Nissan ventures into the Middle East with the export of its latest Magnite model to Saudi Arabia, following a recent facelift launch in India.

Nissan has made a significant move by exporting its latest Magnite model to Saudi Arabia, marking a notable expansion into the Middle East market. This is particularly interesting as Saudi Arabia is the first region to receive the left-hand drive variant of the Magnite, following its recent facelift launch in India in October 2024. The vehicle’s entry into the Kingdom comes shortly after Nissan’s earlier exports to South Africa and plans to reach 65 additional nations in the future.

The Nissan Magnite for the Saudi market is offered in three variants: S, SV, and SL. Compared to the six variants available in India, this streamlined selection retains many key features, ensuring that consumers receive a reliable and well-equipped vehicle. Included in the standard specification are top features such as an 8-inch infotainment system, automatic climate control, a 360-degree camera, and six airbags, speaking to the carmaker’s commitment to passenger safety and comfort.

Design-wise, the exported Magnite resembles its Indian counterpart, showcasing sharp LED projector headlights, L-shaped LED daytime running lights (DRLs), and a large honeycomb-pattern grille embellished with chrome inserts. Supplementing its robust look are 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels and sleek LED taillights at the rear. The vehicle boasts a variety of colour options, presented in 11 shades, including six monotone finishes like Pearl White and Vivid Blue. Interestingly, the India-spec model offers an exclusive ‘Storm White’ colour that is not included in the exported variant.

Inside, the Nissan Magnite maintains the dual-tone black and orange theme, with piano black elements accentuating the steering and dashboard. The interior features are comprehensive, including a state-of-the-art infotainment system compatible with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 7-inch digital display for the driver, and practical amenities such as a wireless phone charger and automatic climate control. Safety remains a priority with the inclusion of a 360-degree camera, rear parking sensors, ABS with EBD, and electronic stability control.

Under the hood, the Saudi variant is powered by a sole 1-litre turbo petrol engine that delivers 100 PS and 152 Nm of torque, paired solely with a continuously variable transmission (CVT). This setup promises a remarkable fuel efficiency of 17.3 kmpl, appealing to environmentally conscious drivers. Notably, the Indian model offers additional powertrain options, which include a naturally aspirated petrol engine with manual and AMT choices.

The Magnite is positioned competitively in the Saudi market, with a starting price of SAR 66,699 (approximately Rs 15.37 lakh). This places it higher than its pricing in India, where the compact SUV falls within a modestly priced bracket starting as low as Rs 6.14 lakh. In Saudi Arabia, the Nissan Magnite will face competition from an array of rivals, including the Hyundai Venue, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV3XO, and Renault Kiger, marking its entry into a segment filled with established players.

Overall, the introduction of the Nissan Magnite to the Middle East signifies a promising opportunity for the Japanese car manufacturer to increase its market presence and explore new avenues for growth. The model’s global success thus far, coupled with its attractive features and robust design, is likely to draw the attention of consumers in the region.
