Genesis unveiled the GV90, its flagship all-electric SUV, at the 2025 New York International Auto Show. Positioned as the brand’s most luxurious and technologically advanced model to date, the GV90 is set to be an important entrant to the luxury EV segment.
التصميم والمزايا
Drawing inspiration from the Neolun concept (pictured above), the GV90 showcases a minimalist design influenced by Korean aesthetics, featuring smooth body lines and the signature “Two Lines” LED lighting. A standout feature is the inclusion of rear-hinged coach doors without a central B-pillar, enhancing ease of access and providing a distinctive appearance. Genesis has confirmed that these doors will be available in a high-spec “Exclusive” trim, meeting all safety standards for side-impact and rollover protection.
Interior and Technology
Inside, the GV90 offers a spacious three-row cabin with premium materials and advanced technology. The dashboard is dominated by a large OLED display, and the vehicle incorporates features such as swivel front seats, a “Magic Roof” with adjustable transparency, and a concert-hall-inspired audio system. Sustainability is also a focus, with the use of eco-friendly materials like recycled fabrics and bioplastics throughout the interior.
Performance and Platform
Built on Hyundai Motor Group’s new eM platform, the GV90 supports an 800-volt architecture, enabling rapid charging capabilities. The SUV is expected to offer a range exceeding 400 miles (approximately 644 km) under optimal conditions and deliver over 600 horsepower through a dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup. Additional features include air suspension and rear-wheel steering, enhancing ride comfort and maneuverability.
Market Availability
Production of the GV90 is slated to begin in June 2026 at Hyundai’s Ulsan EV plant in South Korea. While pricing details are yet to be announced, the GV90 is anticipated to compete with other luxury electric SUVs such as the Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV and the BMW iX.
